How many times have you felt just a little spooked when the 4th wall was broken in a game or a movie? Today on Psych of Play, we’re going to be dissecting WHY that feeling is so bizarre and how deindividualization, the dual function of gaze, and the power of anonymity all play a part in making 4th wall breaks such a visceral sensation.

  1. Video Intro: mask wearing crowd choosing the most sick of options and finding pleasure on it

Me: And that’s Kids and folks, is how Facism is Born and how Hitler rose democratically into Power

  2. The experiment segment was borderline disturbing. What's sad, is even without the masks, they would have still followed one another. Typical mob mentality. What's funny is that if anyone from that audience was in Chriss shoes would have probably met with the same fate. They deserved watching Chris get hit by the car because it woke them up to see how completely fucked up they were being.

  3. Looking at the audience sends chills down my spine.

It kinda reminds me of that animated short (I forgot what the title is) where the viewers would take a lot into this particular society. It is a black and white society where everyone wears a white mask. Other people have a word written on their mask (I forgot what the words were though).

It just gives me the creeps.

  4. this reminds me of a comment on youtube i saw saying that he hates minecraft back then because hating minecraft was the norm before and now he loves minecraft because everyone loves minecraft now

  5. When Majora's Mask's Link looks at the camera and shrugged he broke the fourth wall by pointing out how Tatl is Navi 2.0 and how you and he will be pestered by another fairy, like in the prequel, OOT, which was the source of the annoying Navi meme.

He basically said: "Aw ****, here we go again." to the player.

  6. Well when Monika Calls you by your REAL name then you are already FAAAAR away from comfortable so its not like simply kicking the door in out of the blue, its more like kicking the door in after she's been banging on the door for a hour
